Job Title: Assembler, Production
Reports To: Production Manager
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
BEA Americas delivers sensors, solutions, and accessories for activation and safety in several market segments including pedestrian and industrial automatic doors, vehicle gates and barriers, transportation, security and retail sensing applications. The Production Assembler will be an Ideal Team Player who supports our mission to build a convenient, safe, automated world and works to achieve our vision of continued growth and market expansion.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble, test and package BEA products safely, accurately, efficiently, and on-time by following approved work instruction procedures
- Accurately document product information such as the part number, quantity, and serial numbers into Production database
- Ensure all products, materials, and documentation are in compliance with company specifications and quality standards
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of products, work instructions and standard operating procedures
- Database (DB Products) management in which the primary function is creating product traceability
- Use EZ Pack to access electronic work instructions
- Troubleshoot malfunctioning products and components when necessary
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workspace
- All other duties as assigned by Manager
Essential Tasks:
- Frequent use of hand tools and electric screw guns to assemble products
- Frequent use of soldering equipment and soldering by hand
- Frequent printing of user guide documents and product labels to a multifunction copier/printer
- Frequent lifting and moving items weighing up to 20 pounds
- Frequently standing up to 6 hours of an 8-hour workday
- Occasional use of programming software and equipment
- Occasional use of liquid adhesives
- Occasional operation of a drill and/or drill press
- Occasional operation of a circular chop saw
- Occasional lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Associates degree in Electronics preferred
Prior experience in an electro-mechanical assembly environment or mechanical aptitude
Manual dexterity
Ability to work efficiently in a self-directed manner and as part of a team
Basic computer skills (email, viewing PDFs, Microsoft Office products, etc.)
