BEA Americas delivers sensors, solutions, and accessories for activation and safety in several market segments including pedestrian and industrial automatic doors, vehicle gates and barriers, transportation, security and retail sensing applications. The Test Technician will be an Ideal Team Player who supports our mission to build a convenient, safe, automated world and works to achieve our vision of continued growth and market expansion.
The Test Technician will be responsible for all aspects of the production sensor repair process. The individual must be well organized and be willing to stretch their skills to test and troubleshoot complex product issues. Excellent communications skills and strong computer applications skills are needed to compile data and create professional technical reports. The individual will also work very closely with Warranty to perform all aspects of the warranty process including identifying failure modes of products returned from the field.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Repair products that are defective off the production line
- Alert Quality and Production of recurring assembly errors
- Provide failure analysis data to Quality Control and Engineering on an as needed basis
- Conduct and prepare reports for tests requested by customers for in-warranty product problems
- Maintain adequate inventory to perform repairs
- Analyze and/or repair product returns
- Provide failure analysis data to Quality Control and Engineering on an as needed basis
- Conduct and prepare reports for tests requested by internal customers for in-warranty product problems
- Process warranty returns in the ERP system as needed
Qualifications:
- Two-year technical degree in electronics or equivalent experience is required, with demonstrated level of technical capability and responsibility.
- Basic soldering skills are required.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills are required. Proficient expertise in Microsoft Office is required, particularly Word and Excel.
- Proficiency in SQL is desired, but not required.
- Demonstrated capability as a self-starter in a hands-on environment is required.
